Stuck in New York: plans for the summer

Suddenly the heat reached the top and you found yourself in a concrete jungle, an island full of buildings and traffic. Oh well don´t freak out, we will find a few ways to spend a wonderful time without leaving the city.

Sunset in City Island

Humidity is one of the most representative weather factors of a summer in New York, this is why I would suggest keeping a natural look when it comes to makeup or hairstyle.

When the temperature is hitting the 90 º , you would want to leave your jacket at home and wear some light clothes but also remember taking with you a scarf for these important reasons: weather in New York is absolutely unpredictable and it can start raining any moment or if you are planning on taking the MTA subway as new yorkers do you must know that the AC can be really strong.

Swimsuit top, scarf and pants

After implementing these survival methods, we are ready to start and adventure and visit some amazing places around the city. Besides the all the places that tourists usually visita and that we all love, there are some hidden spots that you could enjoy, let´s name a few:

The Bronx Zoo: one of the largest urban zoos in the world. Tip: every wednesday the entrance is free.

Staten Island ferry: it´s a free ferry that takes to Staten Island for free and gives you a great view of Manhattan.

City Island: a little farther from Manhattan this small island has marvelous seafood and the most relaxing landscapes that would make you feel like you are dreaming.

Coney Island: the places where the beach, cocktails, restaurants and roller coasters are all together in the same spot.

Orchard Beach: proclaimed “The Riviera of New York” when it was created in the 1930´s. Beach + a perfect picnic area.
