Traveling is a learning adventure, and so is packing for it. Traveling with too much luggage can be a real burden, but what matters when you want to travel light is not what you pack, it’s what you do not pack!
These are a few items that you probably won’t need when you’re overseas:

-More than one heavy jacket or coat: even if it’s freezing your favorite coat/jacket would be enough, you can combine this with a sweater and some light accessories like a scarf or a hat to feel warm.

-More than one book: even if you love reading, when you are visiting a new and exotic place you won’t have a lot of time to focus on your book! (This includes guidebooks). The best thing you can do is be present and enjoy what the place has to offer.

-Jewelry and valuables: These make you a walking target for pick-pockets and thieves, and are usually unnecessary.
-More than one pair of jeans: Jeans take a lot of space, are heavy, and they take forever to dry.
-Your nice shoes, hiking shoes: Unless you are going to an specific event, instead you can select your casual and comfortable shoes, since you will probably want to walk around and get to visit as many places as possible.

-Bulky towels: 99% of hotels provide towels. If they don’t, you can usually rent them for a small fee.
-Things you can buy there: Unless you are going to an extremely remote place, it’s very sure you’re going to find pretty much everything.
-Your favorite food and drinks: even if you love some specific brands you would be surprise of how many amazing products you can find in the place you are visiting, try the local food, the traditional drinks!
